Celebrando a Mexico

?Que se celebra en Chicago?

Chicago tiene mucho para ofrecer de manera de festivales, e incluso si usted no planee su visita alrededor de uno, es todavía probable de tener la oportunidad de ser testigo de uno de los festivales. Los festivales mexicanos más famosos celebrados en Chicago, son el Cinco de Mayo, y El Día de la Independencia, y el intrigado Día de los Muertos. El desfile del Día de la Independencia es en la calle 26 en La Villita. Se festeja el 16 de septiembre. Esta procesión en vivo, presenta danzas populares, bandas de mariachi, y numerosas flotas; es considerado el desfile hispano más grande en la ciudad.


El 16 de Septiembre se celebra el día en que en México comienza la lucha por la independencia en 1810, esta lucha al principio fue encabezada por el Cura Miguel Hidalgo y el General Ignacio Allende, y duró aproximadamente once años durante los cuales mucha gente estuvo al frente del ejército insurgente, hasta que en 1821 México se proclama un país independiente.


El Día de Los Muertos es celebra el 1, y 2 de noviembre es una oportunidad para los mexicanos de celebrar tanto la vida como la muerte, para honorar el espíritu de sus familiares que se han muerto. Las familias se dirigen generalmente a los cementerios para tocar y traer flores y alimentos frescos a las tumbas de sus seres queridos. En ocasiones muchas familias construyen altares en sus casas para recordar a los muertos y significar la presencia continua en la casa. Estos altares son cubiertos generalmente con ofrendas, alimentos y otros artículos de decoración y religiosos.


Chicago también tiene la segunda más grande celebración del Cinco de Mayo en Los Estados Unidos. El Cinco de Mayo marca una batalla victoriosa que sucedió en Puebla, México. Allí 4.000 soldados mexicanos valientes triunfaron sobre el doble de combatientes franceses en el 5 de mayo de 1862. Hoy El Cinco de Mayo es un día festivo que se celebra con mucha comida, diversión, desfiles, y por supuesto con mucha cerveza y tequila. Se celebra típicamente durante la primera semana de mayo. Las festividades incluyen una gran variedad de acontecimientos culturales e históricos engranó integrar la comunidad mexicana y para reforzar los lazos de los habitantes de Chicago. El Cinco de Mayo es celebrado por todas partes en la ciudad con una variedad de eventos, pero los principales acontecimientos se llevan a cabo en Douglas Park.

Creating a classroom culture of learning, respect, and student value

The University of Chicago Consortium on School Research published a recent summary of research titled, " Supporting Social, Emotional, &Academic Development Research Implications for Educators " (October 2018). On the publication, the Consortium defines their mission as, "To build capacity for school reform by identifying what matters for student success and school improvement, creating critical indicators to chart progress, and conducting theory-driven evaluation to identify how programs and policies are working."
